How It Works

Game Flow

How to play, from target drop to final elimination.

Four quick checkpoints that explain how each elimination advances the game.

When the game begins each player will be given the full name of their target. Now you must find and eliminate your target.

To eliminate your target, place your clothespin on their clothing — try to be sneaky. Once the clothespin is placed securely on the target’s clothing, they are eliminated and you can submit a picture of the elimination to the website.

Once your elimination is confirmed, the website will tell you the name of your new target, who will be the target of the person you just eliminated.

The game continues until only one person remains, or until the player with the most eliminations at the end is declared the winner!

Help Beta help the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.

This Spring term, Beta is hosting a campus-wide game of Clipped (Assassins). At its core, the game is about having fun, but it’s also about raising awareness for a cause we believe demands attention. We believe it’s important to show up for people whose voices too often go unheard. That’s why all proceeds from this event will go directly to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, an organization that works to ensure immigrant children are treated as children first and foremost.

Through work both in and out of the court room—including litigation, policy reform, and advocacy work—the Young Center is dedicated to protecting some of the most vulnerable children in this country. Right now, many immigrant children are finding themselves navigating an unfamiliar and often adversarial legal system. They find themselves in a system that often fails to account for their unique lived experiences, needs, circumstances, and rights. The Young Center steps in and provides Child Advocates to amplify their voices and pushes for systemic change so that children in the immigration system can feel the compassion they deserve.

By Playing Clipped, you’re doing more than participating in a campus-wide game. You’re helping fund advocacy work that directly impacts the lives of children every day, you’re supporting efforts to make the legal processes surrounding immigration more just, and you’re supporting a future in which every child, regardless of where they come from or who they are, is treated with dignity.

Rules

Our priority is ensuring everyone participates fairly and safely.

No classrooms

You cannot clip someone in a classroom, lab, or during class time.

No dorm rooms

Residence hall rooms are always off-limits, and residence halls are off-limits during quiet hours.

No library

The library is a safe zone at all times.

No bathrooms

Bathrooms are off-limits at all times. No clips may be attempted inside or at the entrance of a bathroom.

No performances

You cannot clip during official Lawrence University performances.

No workplace clips

A participant's workplace is off-limits during working hours.

Watch for organizer updates

Organizers may add restricted locations or times during the game.

No physical force

Clips must be placed, not thrown. No grabbing or restraining.

Disputes

All disputes are settled by the admin team. Decisions are final.

Photo proof

Every clip must be submitted with a photo for verification.
